ElementaryOS and privacy

Hello,

I have some questions regarding the privacy of ElementaryOS.

1.) Does EOS collect any data and send it ( to where ever )? When I turn privacy mode on, that does ( as far I understand ) only mean, that it does not collect my data localy. Can I be sure, that EOS does not send any data from my PC ?
2.) Did anybody of you ever check that?
3.) How can I check that? I know Whireshark ( only by name ). Is there a tool available, that does that job easier? I only like to check, which connections EOS does, which I did not launch.

I'm sorry for any problems with my English, which is not my first language.

Regards, Dragomrak

Many thanks, michaelK, for your reply. This is helpfull and very interesting. Did anybody verfy that? Perhaps anybody can help me with verifying it myself. I know, that wireshark is a programme for that. I do not know, how I can use it for that purpose. Does anybody hove experience with that?

Greets, Dragomrak
