Good question.

Dragora is free (free as in freedom) in first place, it follows the Guidelines for Free System Distributions respecting your freedom. See also http://dragora.org/wiki/doku.php/faq..._i_use_dragora

quick question

hi everyone, i have been really busy so dragora just came accross my radar when i got the linuxquestion notification. i went to their site and distrowatch to get some info on it and it sounds cool, but i was left with 2 questions.
1) how decent are the repos? i see it was built from the ground up so obviously it does not use larger existing repos like ubuntu so how good are they and the package system. btw i know i can always install manually. but i was considering a new primary OS for home already and i do not want as OS where i have to do allot of tinkering to try allot of software on this particular laptop
2) similar question. are the packages old and targeted at stability like slackware or more bleeding edge? i saw it took some ideas from slackware so i was wondering. again the laptop i am putting it on is my home laptop so i want more current packages. stability is not my main concern here. i use it for entertainment, some coding and to try new foss software

Thumbs up Dragora 2.2

Well, the current version is 2.2 which has as you said packages targeted to stability. Version 3, which includes newer packages is under construction... The thing you have to pay attention is if you want Wireless access to Internet... Check here for your hardware compatibility!!

PS: Since this is a complete free distro, with Linux-Libre as its kernel, all proprietary drivers are missing!!

I think selkfoster will tell you more since he is the maker of all!!
