Parole doesn't play anything!!

I have a problem with Parole media player... It doesn't seem to play neither .avi nor .mp3 nor .ogg, nothing!!

It gives me: "Could not initialize Xv output"

Have you tried with xine, exaile, or command-line tools (such as mpg123, ogg123)?.

Dragora does not include xv (xv is non-free). "xv is shareware for personal use only", see http://www.trilon.com/xv/pricing.html

If you installed ffmpeg try ffplay.

I think he is talking about XVideo. What you has linked to is an interactive image manipulation program according to http://www.trilon.com/xv/whatisxv.html.

Edit: I'm able to play videos in Parole. Try running `xvinfo` and pastebin the output. You can also try to disable Xv with `parole --xv false`.

Code:

X-Video Extension version 2.2
screen #0
 no adaptors present

Oh!!! parole --xv false worked too... That's a great tip!! Thanks a lot frusen!!

Correct, through libXv. It is a bit confusing.
