Post xserver-xorg failed error


Hi,
I am using debian sid apt-pinned with testing.
after installation.i got below error:

My message when running apt-get -f install:-
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of xorg:
 xorg depends on xserver-xorg; however:
  Package xserver-xorg is not configured yet.
dpkg: error processing xorg (--configure):
 dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
Errors were encountered while processing:
 xserver-xorg
 xorg
what is the possible solution.i tried --force options too.but doesnot install.please help.

well I would say you have something pinned at a specific version, so xorg is unable to fulfill a dependency request for a version of some package or other it is looking for...

So is there a specific reason you are mixing versions and pinning apps ?

what do you have pinned ?

I had that problem - I had to grab an xserver from the debian snaphot repos.

I know that a new xorg hit either yesteday today in sid so you might get lucky,

Yes.ur right.the xserver-xorg was broken in a new sid install.now with latest release xserver-xorg is fixed.
