xmms problem.
 

When i try to run xmms, I get the following error message and my HD light starts blinking badly.

Please Assist.

is mikmod installed ?

vijay@(none):~$ whereis milkmod
milkmod:
You have mail in /var/mail/vijay
vijay@(none):~$ !find milkmod
bash: !find: event not found

sudo apt-get install libmikmod2

Did this. It helped, the blinking HD stopped. However, I am still unable to select any files from my directory for the play list. This is both as root as well as user.

Please assist.

Are you trying to drag the files in? If that's not working, try right clicking on the playlist and going to Add and then directory or file, depending on where you have your files.

This is what I did. It didn't work either.
