Cool workaround for segfaulting apt-get in 3.0r0?

hi,

yesterday i installed woody on a siemens scenic mobile 710.

got 3 problems.

1

after including the sarge cds pack lists.

apt-get segfaults in (what the hell i cant copy text from console to mozilla!?!)
pkgcachegenerator::newfilever() libapt-pkg-libc6.2-3-2.so.3.2

dselect bases on, not running.

tasksel reports incomplete pack menu.

now this gets interesting...

2

the xircom pcmcia eth card must be brought up with ifup manually.

3

the xserver for chips vga display has no modelines in config. defaults to 640-800h.

i know, these are old bugs, but i cant get around without working packs managers,
any hints?

thx
y
tom
