WinXP, FC2 now I want Debian 3.0r2 as a 2nd Distro
 

Greetings Debianites. I have WinXP and have successfully installed FC2 after much headache and heartache. I now wish to have a 2nd Distro, Debian installed.

Could someone please let me know what I would need to put into the grub.conf or the menu.lst file to enable Grub to let me have this as a choice, and successfully boot into Debian?

You would have to enter the following details;

title Debian GNU/Linux, kernel kerne_name
root (hd #-1,partition#-1) #since your #'s start at 0 if hd is 2 then value=2-1=1
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-kernel_name root=/dev/hdxy ro
initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.3-1-k7 #if initrd.img is used
savedefault
boot
