Windows manager
I'd like to know if there is a way to install enlightenment Window manager with apt-get? I'd like to try it out and see.
Also, I'm using fluxbox right now and was wondering if I could change the background to my liking. I haven't done any customizing yet. Thanks, Tom |
This is the command for installing enlightenment
apt-get install enlightenment Sorry can't remember on the fluxbox question, have not used it in quite a while. However I'm sure someone will provide you with an answer. I will ask have you checked the fluxbox website? Peace V |
You can add a background image to fluxbox by adding something like this to the beginning of your ~/.fluxbox/apps file:
[startup] {fbsetbg -f /path/to/your/background_image.jpg -l} See "man fluxbox" and "man fbsetbg" for more information. |
I installed enlightenment but it doesn't show up in the gdm sessions menu. What can I do to start it up?

MAYBE edit xinit or xsessions...maybe

See if you've got a file named "enlightenment.desktop" in /usr/share/xsessions/ -- this is one of the locations that gdm should check for finding installed window managers (sessions).
