which iso image 3.1_r to download
 
hi, i've gone on this page http://debian.inode.at/debian-cd/3.1_r1/i386/iso-cd/ but i don't know which iso image to download. thanks for ur help

with disc 1, I believe, you can install the rest of the packages from the internet. If you want to be VERY complete I would recommend grabbing the first 7, as I think the last half of those discs are source packages? A search at the debian site may be more forth-coming.

Really, if you have a internet conection not so poor, then you can only download the first CD, the others are the rest of the packets which you can easily download from the repositories

Just that, if you have a low conection, then, download the 14 disc to have acces to all packets

Or......get the ~150mb netinstall disc.

Allow me to suggest that you might be better off getting the Testing distro from http://www.us.debian.org/devel/debian-installer/ , tho. Unless you are setting up a true production environment with stability of extreme importance. Testing (Etch) is probably more suitable for the average hobbyist.
