Where do I find (?old) kernel sources?

Oh dear - I know it's probably a silly question, but..

I need to compile my wireless driver against my current kernel source (2.6.12-1-386)
However, when I run dselect, it has no offerings of 2.6.12... and for some reason I seem to have kernel headers 2.6.17 installed (but that's another question...)

I have read around, and most articles start with something like "type apt-get install linux-source-2.x.x" . This doesn't work for my kernel version.

Is the problem that I'm using an outdated kernel? If so, where are the archives? I've found what looks right at ftp.kernel.org, but I'm not sure this'll work - surely I need to compile my code against a Debian version of 2.6.12 ??

Currently, dselect has as it's apt sources:
ftp.uk.debian.org testing main
ftp.uk.debian.org testing non-free
ftp.uk.debian.org testing contrib

Help (please)!
Thanks,

Oz.

You can get the sources for any version directly from www.kernel.org.

And yes, it would work with Debian. The best way is to compile it the Debian way and use make-kpkg.

Thanks! I got it to work with a bit of fiddling with the madwifi Makefile.inc to put the modules in the right place!
