wheezy kernel panic (2.6.32)

Hya,

One of my penguins, (wheezy amd64 on Intel BOXD510 board), panics on boot while loading modules. It had been healthy until last kernel update (last week).

I am not sure if this is hardware related, but at least I can say that backup kernel (several month old) runs well.

Currently, I have three other wheezy debians (two ia32, one amd64), which are healthy.

Does anybody else run into same situation?

cheers

The package linux-image-2.6.32-5-amd64 can boot, but custom kernel complied by current gcc runs into kernel panic. I did NOT forget "make oldconfig"... update initramfs, lilo.

If the testing/stable kernel is ok and your custom kernel is not, then you may want to start over and rebuild the custom kernel?

My wheezy is fine. I also have squeeze with sid's latest kernel (2.6.38), also fine. Maybe you could grab sid's kernel?

Hya,

Thanks for replies.

Rebuilding 2.6.32 kernel did not solve the situation.

Building 2.6.38 kernel worked.

Happy Penguins!

Screen resolution (console) is incorrect with 2.6.38. X starts with wrong resolution and corrects by itself.
