What is the Debian Way on Mozilla plugins?

Hello all,

I just put a fresh install of Sarge using the new Installer (beta 3) and I am now ready to install a few browser plugins in the best way.

What is the "Debian way" to put Flash or Java plugins on this install?
(or pointer to current how-to)

Thanks, Joe

- Java
blackdown has deb packages for java , it's in the Debian's document -> http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/de...-faq/ch11.html

Personally I just get the jsk from sun.java.org and install it somewhere then add java's bin to my path. You can see a thread on how to do it here -> http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/history/150604

- Flash

apt-cache search flash plugin

Or just get the flash tarball from macromedia, uncompress and copy the files there to /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins

apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree
for java i usually get the sun binary or blackdown binary and then update my path, link the plugin to mozilla plugin dir.

Thanks guys,

I want to try to do everything the "Debian Way" this time. I think flashplugin-nonfree is in Sid just now. That is OK, but I'm doing pure Sarge on this one install --- so I'll just do it the long way round.

Thanks again, Joe
