Unhappy [SOLVED] Weird lenny install problem - package retrieval stuck at 5%

I'm attempting to reinstall Lenny. This is not my first time.

I go through the installation process and everything seems fine until it comes time to pick my packages. I choose only to install the Laptop and Standard System groups as I like to do everything else myself. After picking a mirror the "Select and install software" screen comes up. The progress bar keeps getting stuck at 5%.

I used ctrl-alt-f4 to see what was wrong. This is what it said:

Code:
Jun 4 14:14:26 in-target:
Jun 4 14:14:26 in-target: Do you want to ignore this warning and proceed anyway?
Jun 4 14:14:26 in-target: To continue, enter "Yes"; to abort, enter "No":
There is a long list of in-target lines with package names following them preceding that message. I can only scroll up so far so I don't know if there really is a warning or just that blank line before the message. Neither typing "Yes" or "No" does anything; just inserts a blank line.

I have tried three separate mirrors. I decided to keep my /home partition, that's the only thing I've done different from my many other successful installs. I don't see how that could cause a problem, but maybe it is.

Anyone experience this before? I figured I'd ask before using a live cd to backup and try again without the /home intact. I'd give squeeze a try but it won't recognize my usb keyboard during the install(if anyone knows how to fix this I'd like to know), and several of my laptop keys have been fried from a water spill.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks a lot!

EDIT: Looking through the logs it looks like apt is complaining about untrusted packages. I'm using official mirrors.

How old is your install media ?

Which install media are you using ? (netinstall, businesscard, etc..)

Not too old. It's a CD of the lenny beta 2 installer(netinst). A few months old.

beta installer..that's even older than the rc installer that's probably the issue, since the repository keys have been updated this year..

I would suggest grabbing the Lenny 5.01 netinstall and giving it another shot..
(5.01 is the Second version of the install media released since Lenny became Stable)

Thanks farslayer.

I can't believe I got stuck on something so trivial. I guess I've used this CD for so long that the rollover didn't even occur to me.

Installation in progress...thanks again!
