Virtualbox Modules

I'm trying to update my vbox-ose kernel modules but everytime I run this command, m-a a-i virtualbox-ose I keep getting this error message: Build log starting, file:
│ /var/cache/modass/virtualboxose.buildlog.2.6.26-1-686.1224088244
│ Date: Wed, 15 Oct 2008 11:30:44 -0500
And it stops at this point.

Any suggestions on getting it to work?

You don't have any virtual machines open, do you? Also, you might try this first:

Code:
/etc/init.d/vboxdrv stop
It does take a few seconds for the driver to be recompiled.

Oh, and if you're sure the source has been downloaded, you can rebuild it manually with this:
Code:
/etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup
followed by

Code:
/etc/init.d/vboxdrv start

Thanks for the quick reply. I had to install the vbox sources. It's working now. I guess I jumped the gun trying to figure this out.

Another question. Does anybody use an antivirus program if you're running Windows as a guest with vbox? I currently have XP as guest inside debian as host.

Thnx.

The Windows in the box is the same as Windows outside the box - viruses will eat it alive. Use the same anti-virus package you would normally use. Fortunately, virtualbox is a sandbox, so any viruses will be contained.
