VirtualBox Kali Linux on Windows and Linux host freezes randomly

Hello,

My Kali Linux distro freezes frequently and, as it seems, quite randomly, approximatly every 2 weeks. The only coincidence is that Iceweasel always runs when the problem occurs, but I dont think it has something to do with that, as Iceweasel is not a Ring0 application, so a freeze should not implicate a complete system failure.
As Kali Linux is Debian based, I decided to put this question in here.
Freezes means: Absolute no reaction from the guest machine, except, the mouse still moves, but there is no reaction at all, if I try to click something,... nothing reacts.

The Virtual machine is the newest Version of VirtualBox, but the problems occures with older versions as well.
I recently updated the Linux Kernel to Version 4, but the problems remains.
I currently run Kali Linux on a Windows host machine with the following hardware configuration:

I have a 2 Linux machines as well, on one of them the Kali Linux freezes as well, on the other one, the problem hasn't occured yet.
It should be noted, that the hardware configuration on the freezing Linux host is nearly identical, except for the 16Gb Memory.

So... I have no idea how to fix the problem, because it appears so randomly, even if I put that machine in a kernel debugger, i may not be able to reproduce the error.

Any advices ?

Thanks !

How much RAM have you allocated to the VMs?

Perhaps the Kali forum would be a better place to ask a question than LQ?

VM? Kali is meant to be run live (from disc or USB device). If you really want to see Kali, there is no need to install it, either on bare metal or in a VM.
