/usr/src/linux/make menuconfig?????

I want to install my marvel ehternet and when I was installing the drivers I saw "To compile the driver, go to the directory /usr/src/linux and
execute the command "make menuconfig" or "make xconfig"".

I went to /usr/src/linux but... there wasn't a Makefile there??!?!?!

Someone knows the problem?

Are you installing drivers you've downloaded or trying to use an existing driver in the kernel? if it's the 1st situation you need to have the source package for your kernel installed if isn't. If you're running 2.4.24 the package will be called

kernel-source-2.4.24-i386

or something like that. Make sure you install the source for the same kernel you're using

you might have to make a symlink to /usr/src/linux from /usr/src/kernel-source-2.4.xx

mmmm...

I have to install the drivers, and in the cd of the hardware there is an explanition and a file called: sk98lin_2.4.22_patch

... so what I sholud do?
