Using a LPR driver under CUPS

Hi, guys. I have some questions to ask regarding the setup of an inkjet printer.

You see. I have configured the printer(EPSON PM-830C) to work with CUPS/gimp-print driver(PM-730C's driver seems to be compatible with 830C). It works but not optimally. I often have pages being printed out of place. I wanted to configure the page margin settings but quit since I don't know how.

Then I found this original driver from Epkowa, which is for PM-830C. So I want to try it out now. But it comes in the LPR version only(even worse, in rpm and source code only). How should I get it to work without crashing with CUPS? Does CUPS uses LPR drivers, too? Do I need to uninstall CUPS first?

Please help.

Foomatic has drivers for an 820C, 850C, and lots of others ... Maybe one of those is more compatible with your printer ... Those drivers certainly work with CUPS. I wouldn't get rid of CUPS.
