Use gnome front end for application dialogues

On previous systems I had it set up for things like loki installers, it would give me a gnome front end. I believe somewhere during my new debian setup I saw the option to select normal dialogues or gnome and I picked just normal dialogues. I would like to switch it to use a gnome front end but I'm not sure how or even what point of my setup I encountered that. Might have been when I installed the xwindow core package or when I installed gnome, or even before those. Tried dpkg-reconfigure for both of them and didn't give me anything. Maybe I can edit a file somewhere? Or can I get to that script again to select gnome. Thanks in advance, stupid me should have picked more carefully, thanks in advance.

Edit: Found out its dpkg-reconfigure debconf, but loki installer still using a dialogue, maybe it's a different issue?

Edit #2: Ok, a little reading shows they needed gtk1 libs, I only have gtk2 libs
I have my nice comfy little gui installers now after installing the old gtk1 libs.
