Use a flash drive as installation media

I want to install Debian on my laptop. The laptop is a thinkpad R52. The problem is that I don't have any cdrs avalible at the moment so I want to use my flash drive as installation media. Does anyone have any Ideas on how to do this?. Are there any installation problems with debian and my laptop?
