usb key mount and...
Dear All,
I'm having the d*mndest time figuring out how to mount a USB key in Debian Lenny. I read this thread, but the problem is that my USB stick is showing up at sdb - but there is no sdb1 to mount. Is there any simple solution to this? Apologies for my newbie-ness, and thanks to all. (added) Doh! I just tried mounting /dev/sdb and it worked. I had always assumed that non-numbered disks had no file system... thanks. |
Hi, Welcome to LQ!
LQ has a fantastic search function that may save you time waiting for an answer to a popular question. With over 3 million posts to search it's possible the answer has been given. :) To be honest, I saw this post yesterday, But not being too familiar with the debians, thought I would just watch for a while. I'm glad you got it worked out. Things are continually changing with GNU/Linux, and it's not surprising that some old commands don't work on all systems. Regards Glenn |
