Upgraded Kernel 2 2.6.3 But mouse no longer works :(

I am using unstable on Debian, I upgraded my Kernel to 2.6.3 but it broke my mouse,

When i start X I get the message that /dev/psaux Cannot open device No such device.

Also somemone told me to type modprobe mousedev psmouse and i get the following error:

mosedev: unknown Parameter "psmouse"

FATAL: Error inserting mousedev (/lib/moduels/2.6.3-1-686/kernel/drivers/input/mousedev.ko): unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I have for hrs on the net and irc and still got no help

compile the kernel with mouse support included :-). You know you need a mouse all the time and you put it as a module instead of including it?
you could also grab a kernel from kernel.org

running 2.6.4 built from source with mouse support!

problem solved

well for me anyway!

do:

modprobe mousedev && modprobe psmouse

mouse should then be found at /dev/psaux

good luck.

Lyn.
