Upgrade to etch without upgrading Custom built Xorg

Hello,

I am using Debian Sarge (with Gnome and kernel version 2.6.17) system with custom built Xorg server from AMD for one their GX Processor system. Now I would like to upgrade my system to Etch but at the same time I do not want to upgrade my Xorg system. Is this something which can be done easily? And How?

Thanks

You could try pinning your xorg and then upgrading

Yes, I have gone through pinning stuff for some other purpose (like just for single package), but I am not sure how can I handle complicated package like Xorg. What do I write in /etc/apt/preferences file for this?
