Unidentified video mode number


I got unidentified video mode numberwhile installing debian.I selected "d" (which showed 1286x...)
But,the computer flashes after sometime (monitor goes blank and then returns to normal)what is the problem? how to solve .Using Debian 7.My system is pentium 4(pin type processor) Motherboard is millenium motherboard

Intel 82845 usually just installs, it doesn't play well with gnome3, but it does atleast load into fallback mode.
Is yours atleast loading in fallback mode?
I can't offer a lot of help except you may need to install firmware-linux-nonfree
I'll be watching this thread to see if you get the actual gnome3 instead of fallback.

I'm not exactly sure what you're doing, but if you're installing, use the ncurses (text mode) installer instead of the graphical one.

itGOES into gnome fallback problem is same it does not go into gnome normal mode but in fluxbox no problem no flickering

You're not going to get compositing with that old GPU. Use a *box window manager, LXDE or Xfce with compositing disabled.
