Question unable to take screen shot in WHEEZY


hi all,i have recently upgraded to wheezy and when i try to take a screen shot from accessories its working but i tried it by pressing (print screen/ctl+print screen),a flash appears on the monitor but it was not prompted for saving/not saved to any location .Is it designed like that ?

using which tools?

gnome-screenshot
xfce4-screenshooter
ksnapshot
scrot

whichever it is read the man page or Google howto use it. Chances are the config file is messed up after upgrading from Gnome 2 to Gnome 3.
