unable to remove a package

Sir
I am unable to remove or purge a package which is in a very bad inconsistent state. First I tried dpkg --purge then issued the command dpkg --remove --force remove-reinstreq which also failed. When I try to do install a new package or upgrade my system, the message " E: The package ldap-account-manager needs to be reinstalled " is appearing. Even I reinstalled the above package still the error persists. Please help me.

root@rupesh:~# dpkg --remove --force remove-reinstreq ldap-account-manager

Did you try reinstalling it and trying to remove it again, as suggested?

Hi,

this seems to be failing because it is unable to stop apache2 (which is probably triggered by the ldap-account-manager pre remove script). I'd start by looking at line 203 of your apache2.conf.
