Unable to mount root fs

Hey,

I'm trying to install Debian by doing a network install. I have rescue.bin and root.bin loaded onto two different floppy disks. When I first boot from the rescue floppy disk, everything seems to be fine. However, soon after loading the root.bin floppy, it gives this error:

Kernel panic : VSF : Unable to mount root fs on 02:00

I was dual booting WinXP along with Mandrake 10, before I accidentally screwed the linux partition. Now I'm trying to get back to linux and I'd like to try Debian this time. Can anyone help me out (please hurry, I can't wait to get back to linux.....windoze is so pathetic in comparison )

Hi,

- "on 02:00" means /dev/fd0 (major, minor number in hexa) : do you have an internal floppy drive or a usb floppy drive (if you own a laptop)?

- How did you create your root floppy?

Thanks for the help. I went to walmart and bought some new floppies and they worked fine.
