Ultimate Debian Live CD asks for Login and Password

After the boot process completes and presents a choices Menu,
I select for it to use RAM (2nd menu choice from the top of the
choices list as near as I can remember...
What comes next is that it requests
Login .......

Password .......

This is a ludicrous idea for a Live CD
I have used Ubuntu Live CDs and not had any
of this nonsense.

I cannot find any information in any text files on the CD,
neither can I find any information on
http://debian-live.alioth.debian.org -->> Debian Live Home Page

Is there some secret to this or are the developers just playing silly games?

If anyone has a solution I would like to hear it.

Many thanks.

Ok, that was nice and all... except it doesn't work... I can not log into the live disk using live:live... I have tried several combos (found online) and none are working... I have even re-downloaded the disk... any other ideas smoker?

thats if your talking about my Debian Ultimate CD above

IcoNyx 10-21-2010 06:42 PM

Yep, tried those too... fail.

I downloaded a different version lets see if that works.

linus72 10-21-2010 06:52 PM

exactly what are you downloading?
the link

IcoNyx 10-21-2010 07:05 PM

What I am downloading: http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/sq...me-desktop.iso

Bear in mind (though I know it was not mentioned earlier) I am using the "pendrivelinux" multiboot tool to create a multiboot thumbdrive with Memtest86, UBCD, and debian. the other two work great but I cant log into debian, so... I give up, none worked, I'm switching back to Fedora.

I am disappoint.

NOTE: I know this is probably the multiboot tool that's borking it... and I know that I can use their Debian image (which works). But their image is old as crap and does not contain basic wireless firmware or drivers making it useless to me.

linus72 10-21-2010 07:18 PM

that's a true Debian Live CD
not "Ultimate Debian LiveCD"
?

anyway, these are more up-to-date
http://live.debian.net/cdimage/month...86/iso-hybrid/
