.udev/ already exists on the static /dev!

Hello,

Last week, I built a new kern 3.4.43 (stable) on my old machine (Compaq nx6110). I made a grub.cfg without any initrd, and when I booted, I saw a Warning saying ".udev/ already exists on the static /dev!". So after reading a lot of articles about udev and devfs, and I found a page explaining how to solve this problem :
http://linux.koolsolutions.com/2009/...ssages-debian/

But I'm not sure this is the best way to solve this, because of the power of udev. At now, I'm thinking about some strange ways to solve it. What I wanna do is to purge my devfs, and then run my linux only with udev. Can you tell me if that is a good idea ?

I'm a bit lost, so if someone has already experimented this problem and has already solved it without removing any /dev/.udev, please explain me your way of fixing :jawa:

Best regards

Why?
If you explain exactly what it is you hope to achieve, it may be easier for someone to offer advice.
