Troubles to install Debian in a Power PC

I have been trying to install Debian linux 3.1 in a macintosh performa 6360, 603e processor. Well, I installed Debian in it, but only the basic package, where I can access the system in text mode only.
When I try to install the complete system using the Debian CDs installation a mensage is showed to me saying that :
"cdrom device was detected but does not seem to have a Debian CD in it".
I had some troubles to install the basic system also, so my computer did not recognise the Cds, then I transferred the CDs´folders for my hard disk. When I made the copy from CDs to my Hard Disk, I could conclude the basic installation. After the basic system be installed, I could not acces the partition where I copied Debian folders that were in MacOs partition.
Could anybody help me with informations about Debian for power PC installation?
Thanks.

I've always heard it's more difficult to install GNU/Linux on "Old World" macs. If you haven't seen it already, there's a lot of good info here:
