i think it has somthing to do with the usb serial adapter cuz ive found threads of just usb only (same exact monitor just usb so serial)and they plug in an ubuntu see it right away
dmesg i do not see anything that would be the touch screen (3m,microtuch,touch,somthing mouse,etc) not sure what im missing
im about to do a fresh install pretty quick and try again
i can run #cat /dev/ttyUSB0
and touch the screen and i do get output
I had the same exact issue with my 15" 3M micro-touch. I was using Ubuntu. I have installed fedora, will re-install the driver and report back!! I too suspected the adaptor, cause I see USB stuff in dmesg, but nothing on the touchscreen.
just a couple of things
1. You are making sure the driver is pointing to the usb rather than a serial dev.
2. You are starting the driver, I remember having to start it from rc.local I think?
