There is any Intel Pro/100 driver for Debian?
Continuing the net installation by Debian is very hard if it don't find any network card. I have a Intel Pro/100 card and it doesn't find it. I think I need a sorta.. Driver! But there is only ones for windows? Should I use ndiswrapper?
I thought that Intel Pro/100 was a pretty card and the drivers should be included in Debian NET install.. |
I have searched for a driver for your ethernet device and I have found this:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/e1000/ http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Deta...Id=60&lang=eng So in my opinion the driver for linux exists, but I think, that it won't be easy to get it into the debian installator itself. I had a similar problem and I solved it by using additional PCI ethernet card for the installation, and compiled the driver when the system was installed. |

Yeah, I am talking about the wired thing.. It seems pretty hard to install the driver, but since you can fire up the console during installation it would not be impossible. And the lspci output (I write it down):
08:08.0 Ethernet Controller: Intel blabla... PRO/100 VE Network Connection (rev 01) |

Code:
05:03.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82557/8/9/0/1 Ethernet Pro 100 (rev 0d) According to the post by maslik you may want the e1000 for your card. There is a module with this name in the mainline (and Debian) kernel. Sanity would imply that it's the same driver. Evo2. |
Network: Card Intel 82562ET/EZ/GT/GZ - PRO/100 VE (LOM) Ethernet Controller driver e100 at port dcc0 Just works here.
