Testing Sound

I just installed KDM & KDE-CORE which loaded a very basic KDE 3.5.1 on my Debian 64 system. The problem now is I don't know what I am missing to get audio working. I do know that Debian recognized my onboard sound card from the screenshot but since I installed "kde-core I may have skipped some ALSA or Sound apps that I need.

Can anyone help me resolve this?

running "base-config" may be helpful

I have no idea why that command does not work...

Code:

home:/home/cwilliams# base-config
bash: base-config: command not found
home:/home/cwilliams# su -
home:~# base-config
-su: base-config: command not found
home:~# su cwilliams
cwilliams@home:/root$ base-config
bash: base-config: command not found

you may need to install base-config and then run it as root user

I don't think base-config exists anymore. There are way to duplicate all it's functions, but I haven't figured them out.

Did you install alsa-base and alsa-utils, then run alsaconf?
