tahoma font under debian

I have a microsoft license for this damn thing. How do I install the font under sarge. I installed
- msttcorefonts
- x-ttcidfont-conf

and put the ttf within /usr/share/fonts/truetype/msttcorefonts
but cedega doesn't seem 4.4.3 doesn't seem to recognise it's existance
I have switched on the truefonts within the config file but it still aint working.

A couple of things:

1. Append your xconfig to include the font path & restart X.
2. Update your font cache.

# fc-cache -f -v

i get this error when I lanuched cs source

_X11TransSocketOpen: socket() failed for local
_X11TransSocketOpenCOTSClient: Unable to open socket for local
_X11TransOpen: transport open failed for local/debian:0

this is what i thought I needed to do
FontPath "/usr/share/fonts/truetype/msttcorefonts"
