synaptic 'filter' controls
 

Using synaptic, sometimes I have broken packages. When you start up synaptic it will say you have broken packages, and then tell you you can find them using the 'Broken' filter. I go to the filters dialog (Settings->Filters), and click on 'Broken' and 'OK', but all I get is everything. In other words it doesn't seem to filter anything at all. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

It's allready an option.

Go to custom filters (at the bottom not under settings) and you will see it. It's the first choice.
