Suggestion about NIC

Hi All:

I would like to buy a Network Card.
Which model you suggest?
I found that not all the cards can be supported "directly".
That means, you cannot use it just after the installation.
You need to load some modules/drivers.

Any suggestions?
I prefer 3Com or RealTek.

Thanks.

RealTek (RTL-8139) cards are fine for home use, but if you are looking into a server environment I would go for a 3com, or better still an Intel supported by the e100 module as you get "cpu cycle saving". This really just means that the card saves up a few packets befor firing off an interrupt; on very heavily loaded machines this can make a reasonable different.

cheers

Jamie...
