starting a program at desktop x on gnome

Hi all,

A non-critical problem: I've written a simple bash-script that starts all my favorite programs. I've made a starter on the panel that calls the script. This setup gives me a very convenient way to start all my programs with one click.

But it would be even more convenient if I could start my programs immediately on the right desktop. Does anyone know if there is a command to do that? Would be fun, thanks.

Corien

I don't have gnome in front of me right now, but I think its:

I know about that, but that's not my question. I don't always start those programs (xmms, amsn, ymessenger, gkrellm...), only if I want to relax... So they should not be started every time I login.

The question is especially about some kind of command or something to start a program in the desktop you want, it would be a great way of impressing my friends you see .
