Software Raid and ICH9 controller
Hi,
I've searched for a long time now and still have no answer to my problem, hope I can find help here :-)
I'm trying to install Lenny via USB Stick on a server, which is based on an Intel Server Board S3200SH. It has a built-in SATA raid controller but I don't want to use it (changed it's mode to AHCI in the bios), instead, I'm trying to install Debian on a software raid. In the partition manager, I create two partitions (one for the root filesystem, the other one for swap) on each disk and then configure for the use as raid. I create the raid partitions, define them for / and swap. Now I want to write the changes to disk and the error message appears:
“The kernel was unable to re-read the partition table on /dev/md0 (Invalid argument). This means Linux won’t know anything about the modifications you made until you reboot. You should reboot your computer before doing anything with /dev/md0.”
I tried many things but nothing helped, any idea?
Thanks a lot
Peter
