snmp package recommendation - debian

hi there,

Any thoughts on which snmp package should I install? I'm running sarge on
2.6.8-2 kernel.

Any pointers will be appreciated.

regards,
/virendra

snmpd for the SNMP agent
snmp for the various SNMP related apps (e.g. snmpwalk, ...)

If you want a graphical MIB browser, then mbrowse is a pretty decent one.

Hi,

I'm looking for a snmp package (any recommendation) that I can insall. I don't have snmp installed so snmpd does not apply to me at this moment :-)

Then install snmp as I said above. It contains the SNMP programmes such as snmpwalk.
Code:
apt-get install snmp

great thanks, "apt-get install snmp" did it. btw, do you know from which section {"stable","testing","unstable","experimental" } it grabs it from?

As you are running 'sarge', it takes it from testing unless you have configured otherwise. (as 'sarge' = current testing)
