slow java performance

That's another problem

I n my Debian i use the JamVM versions 1.2.0 and all the java applications are really slow instead of windows applications..... For example matlab need about the double time that need to windows to load.
Is this an implementaion problem of the java virtual machine.... do u face the same problem?

older linux JVM's have had some pretty bad performance problems. In your situation, I would upgrade the JVM to 1.4.2 or later and see if this does not fix it. Also having little RAM in the computer in question may contribute
