Skype - does it work with the current stable version of Debian?

Does Skype audio work with the current stable version of Debian? How about webcam?

Skype audio doesn't work with Mandriva 2009.0, and it's something I need for work and personal reasons. Having video as well would be really nice.

(I plan to try the open source alternatives as well, but Ekiga is incomprehensible to me and I haven't tried Twinkle or others yet - and most of my contacts use Skype anyway.)
