silly samba question

hey guys, running debian 3.1-testing here... i recently switched from gnome to kde and found something weird...

i have a line in my startup scripts which mounts a windows samba mount... it's mounted as the user root, and i have a user account i use on my machine.. in gnome, the drive was mounted as root, but my regular user had full permissions....... now... when i try to go to only my mp3 diretory... i'll go into it.. and it'll be blank.. i'll do ls like 2-3 more times, and like half of my mp3s will show up, up until the letter M and then they stop... what the heck has happened... when i try to move stuff over to that drive i get this weird error saying

mv: failed to preserve ownership for `/mnt/obsidian/mp3/Cam\'ron Jay-Z Diss.mp3': Operation not permitted

this just started happening today, what the heck went down guys, can someone help me?

it's /etc/init.d/mounting .... starts automatically.. the line is just simply.

Code:
/bin/mount -t smbfs -o username=***,password=********* //192.168.1.6/200gig /mnt/obsidian/
