Setting up Privoxy as a system-wide web filter in Wheezy.

In Debian (Squeeze) I can set KDE to use privoxy for all installed web-browsers. In Wheezy this seems not possible because when I tried several times, the browsers did not use privoxy. I set up KDE to use privoxy through System-Settings -->> Networking. As I said, my method worked in Squeeze and it is still working.

Does anyone know how or what I should read to learn how to set the system to use privoxy for all browsers?

Thanks.

"Privoxy is a non-caching web proxy with advanced filtering capabilities " acording to their website (http://www.privoxy.org/)

Clients should have some option to configure a proxy, or they should use the proxy-settings of the system.

You should configure the individual browser(s) of the system (wheezy) to define the proxy.

I had not heard of it until I read this thread.

This is probably a silly thing to ask but have you checked to see if there is a man page for it?

Their site should have all the documentation you need too. If not I wouldn't fool with it.

If you are devoid of ideas, it doesn't mean that others don't have them. Let others post. Your lack of knowledge doesn't prove anything, apart from what it corroborates.

@Widget
I don't use privoxy but it is installed on my Debian Wheezy/Sid system. I checked and yes indeed: there is a man page for privoxy.

@edbarx
Why so grumpy? You're using Debian. Debian users are happy users.
