Setting locale failed

When ever I run update-menus I get the following:

perl: warning: Setting locale failed.
> perl: warning: Please check that your locale settings:
> LANGUAGE = "en",
> LC_ALL = "en",
> LANG = "en"
> are supported and installed on your system.
> perl: warning: Falling back to the standard locale ("C").

Does any body know how to fix it?

I also use localepurge to,after every update purges locales for some added free space.
