Sarge Netinstall - A few questions

Hi all,

I would like to install Debian Sarge through the new Debian Installer (no need to use up 11 cds on packages I'll never use, even if I could get jigdo to work), which I am pretty sure downloads packages from the internet and installs them. However, I have a few questions about the network install. Firstly, I have an atheros wifi card (netgear WG311), and I am almost absolutely sure that the installer will not support it. I have the sources to the driver source, so is there any way to build it and load it from a floppy or something during the install? What kernel do I need to compile it against in order to use it?

Alright, I copied the kernel modules needed from my slack system to a floppy. Now, however, when I try to mount the floppy in console 2, I get an error saying incorrect argument. I used the command mount /floppy. How do I mount my floppy drive? I thought I did it correctly. Then, assuming I am able to mount it, can I just modprobe the modules, flip to console 1, and continue woth network setup, or do I need to configure my connection as well? These modules are built with kernel 2.6.7, and the install uses 2.6.5 (kernel26), will this be a problem?

Try
Code:
$ mount /mnt/floppy
And if that fails:
Code:
$ mount -t msdos /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy
I think it was msdos, read the man-page on mount to select the right filesystem for a floppy disk, it's not vfat (which refers to FAT16/32, floopies are FAT12).

HTH
