Considering that yes, Debian releases cycles are a little bit longer than Micro$oft's, that makes for a much more stable OS IMO. I recently upgraded from "Sarge" to "Etch" on both my x86 based machine as well as on my Sun Ultra 5 and both have been purring like kittens. (AAMOF, I am posting from the Ultra 5 "sarge" machine now).
