resolution and x


i installed sarge from a net install disk. the screen resolution is 1024*768 and after a minute or so the mouse freezes and after 5 minutes x freezes. anybody that could help?

I'm hesitant to think it's because of your resolution or your mouse. I can unplug my mouse in the middle of an X session and it'll continue on without a mouse forever. Also, If X didn't detect a mouse it wouldn't start. Finally, screen resolutions either work or don't. So, I'd bet it has to do with something we haven't pinpointed yet, unless you have some odd, non-standard buggy drivers installed. Can you describe some more about your setup?
