Removing GNOME


I reciently installed debian for mt brother, its default desktop manager is GDM and he didn't care for it. I installed KDE for him but i wanted toknow if I could remove GNOME without any problems? If so how?
apt-get remove gdm ?

Any help is much appreciated, Thanks

Yup, that'll work. To remove all associated config files too, use the --purge option. Make sure you've installed kdm as well, otherwise you're still stuck with gdm. (Confusing? Nope: Gnome is the desktop, gdm is the desktop manager that accompanies it. Likewise with KDE and kdm )
