relationship between home network pc's

Hi,
"testing" 2.6

1.I cannot play throghu Totam an avi movie on another Windows PC in my home network :
"Totem could not play 'smb://administrator@adipc/My Shared Folder/syr1meekrab.avi'.

2. Is there a package that can help me display one machine (pc) on another , at my home network ?
Can this be done between windows to Linux ...?

Thanks.

1. ... If that file is local on the machine can you play it ? in other words does it only fail when you are trying to access it through the network share ?

2. check out VNC ( Virtual network computing ) Software, you can use it to view a machine remotely.
