Recompile problems of kernel 2.6.8 source and pktcdvd???

Hi,
My name is Marshall Haire. My dad is currently running Debian Sarge with a 2.6.8 recompiled kernel that he and I tried to do. We tried to use the udf patch to add the pktcdvd module in it but apparently it didn't work. I tried to use the steps followed in a message titled upgrade/recompile to kernel 2.6 here in the debian forum here on linuxquestions.org. If anyone has success recompiling a 2.6 kernel with the pktcdvd module, it would be greatly appreciated for the steps that were taken. Another issue that he is having on his debian system is in using the game lbreakout2, he isn't getting any sound when the game loads or during game play at all. I have recently installed all alsa and oss files that were not installed and still does not work. I have ran it from the shell and it gives errors that say "No available audio device" and then can't play the wav files for the game. Any helpd is greatly appreciated.

Sorry for being late in replying.
1. I am unsure of what you mean about pktcdvd package for debian. Could you be more specific?
2. We switched to gnome and the sound for lbreakout2 works while in gnome. It is set now so my dad is part of the group called audio. Thanks again for the reply. Take care.

1. It was my misunderstanding, please disregard whatever I said.
2. I am glad that things went good.
