Reboot of Debian Lenny now Windows PCs cannot see Debian.

I rebooted Debian after updating software which cleared up the error I was getting:
Code:
An error occurred while loading or saving configuration information for gnome-terminal. Some of your configuration settings may not work properly.
Adding client to server's list failed, CORBA error: IDL:omg.org/CORBA/COMM_FAILURE:1.0.

Now all my Windows PC's (vista, xp, and 2000) cannot see Debian but they can print to the printers that are attached to my Debian PC. I have allowed users to browse to their home folders on Debian and it worked fine until the reboot.

I still have all of my hosts files pointing to the correct ip's and the smb.conf file has not been changed.

How should I go about troubleshooting not being able to browse the home directories of the Debian PC?

I figured it out. Apparently nmbd and smbd weren't started at reboot!
I ran:
Code:
/etc/init.d/samba restart
and received 'No such process'.

So does samba have nothing to do with sharing a printer, does cups handle it all even between linux and windows?

You can share printers between Linux and Windows without samba, which I think is what your current setup does.

Thanks for the info. Just wanting to make sure I understand what is going on under the hood.
